Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Metrichor Team as a Data Visualisation Specialist. This exciting and challenging role is responsible for visualisation of results of analyses performed on EPI2ME - the cloud-based real-time biological solutions platform.

Reporting to the Metrichor Associate Director, the successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Metrichor team and the analyses developers to design and build simple solutions giving the platform users quick and valuable insights into the results of their analyses.

The Details

As a Data Visualisation Specialist, you will help visualise and present the results of the bioinformatics analyses, making sure the reports capture all relevant information and scale with the growth of the data coming through the platform. The focus of the role is the development of a framework of reusable visualisation charts to help transform last and complex data into modern cross-platform informative solutions. You will also capture and act on user feedback, work with other team members to design and bring about new features and experiences to the user facing components of the EPI2ME platform.

What We Are Looking For

The candidate will be an enthusiastic & innovative data visualisation specialist who can work autonomously but contribute and communicate well within the team as well as with members of customer support team. The ideal candidate will be ‘result-oriented’, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and proven track record of delivering products into the hands of users, broadly knowledgeable of modern application design concepts, UI frameworks and technologies as well as visualisation approaches.

They will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous software development experience and interactive data visualisation
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript
  • Fluency in JavaScript frameworks for building user interfaces and data visualisation charts
  • Proficiency in gathering, processing, transforming and analysing of data
  • Knowledge of TDD, CI / CD (Gitlab) practices

Also beneficial would be experience / knowledge / understanding of data science, bioinformatics, mobile apps development, development and deployment of web apps and delivery of cloud-based (AWS) solutions.
